Process

How projects actually work

Discovery means understanding your brand, audience, competitors, and goals before a single deliverable is written. That includes a structured intake brief, a competitor content audit, and a positioning session. There's deep research that precedes every recommendation.

It depends on scope. A focused strategy engagement runs 3–4 weeks. Website copywriting for a standard 6–8 page site typically takes 2–3 weeks once the brief is complete. Ongoing retainers are scoped per cycle. You get a realistic timeline upfront and I stick to it.

Every project includes two structured feedback rounds. In practice most work lands on the first pass because the discovery phase does its job. Scope changes or new directions beyond the original brief are scoped separately.

That is common, and it is exactly why the consultation and quote builder exist. You do not need to show up with a perfectly defined scope. We can work backward from the problem, look at what is blocking growth, and figure out whether you need strategy, copy, search support, or a combination.

Content & AI

My no‑AI stance explained

Enough with the AI slop flooding the internet. "Elevate", "in today's landscape", "synergize", this language is an insult to trained journalistic work and to your readers. Search engines are already penalising it. More importantly, your audience can feel it. Human writing builds trust; AI filler erodes it quietly until you notice the drop in conversions.

Yes. A content audit is a standard deliverable in the strategy phase. Beyond detection tools (AI tools analyzing AI content are obviously imperfect), I read for tone, specificity, and the structural patterns AI reliably produces, vague openers, hedge-heavy conclusions, hollow bullet lists. You'll get a clear picture of what works, what reads as machine-generated, and what needs rewriting.

B2B technology, manufacturing, professional services, and consumer brands, primarily companies where credibility matters. I've worked across SaaS, industrial sectors, retail, and media. What matters more than industry is whether you take your content seriously. I don't do work for companies that want volume over quality.

Consultation

Before you book a session

No. If you decide afterward that you want more help, we can talk about it, but that isn't the purpose of the session. The 60 minutes is yours. You'll leave with something usable regardless of whether we work together afterward.

It usually is. If something genuinely needs another session, I'll say so clearly and we can book a follow-up at the same rate. There's really no pressure to commit to a bigger engagement.

Pricing

How pricing works

Three things: scope (how many deliverables), starting point (building from scratch vs. rewriting existing work vs. an audit-only engagement), and timeline. See the pricing page for starting ranges by service and project size, the numbers there reflect real quotes, not placeholders.

Yes. Turnaround under 2 weeks adds a 30% rush fee across every service. Standard timelines (within 1–3 months) get standard pricing with no surcharge.

The ranges on the pricing page and quote builder are starting estimates, not final invoices. The exact number is confirmed after a quick consultation once we've nailed down real scope, no surprise fees added mid-project without you knowing first.

Yes. Bundling services (e.g. SEO plus copywriting, or a full brand-and-site relaunch) is priced as one coordinated engagement rather than separate invoices. See the package options on the pricing page.

Most projects are priced by scope, not by the hour, so you know the total cost upfront rather than watching a clock. Ongoing retainers are the exception and are scoped per cycle after an initial project together.

Practical

Logistics & policies

Yes. Sessions and most project work are fully remote, so I work with clients across Canada and the U.S.

Reschedule at least 48 hours in advance and there's no issue. Late cancellations under 24 hours forfeit the session fee. Once a session has happened, there are no refunds, but if you felt it wasn't useful, tell me why and we'll figure it out.

Yes, I do offer ongoing retainers for content strategy, editorial oversight, and SEO maintenance for clients. I keep a limited number of retainer clients so the work stays quality-controlled. Retainers are scoped after an initial project, not before.

Yes. The quote builder on the homepage is there to give you a rough scope range before any conversation. It is not a formal proposal, but it helps you understand the likely size of the project and whether it makes sense to book a consultation. You can also send me a message if you want a more detailed quote before booking.
